The Mission of the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management is to manage development of U.S. Outer Continental Shelf energy and mineral resources in an environmentally and economically responsible way. BOEM is responsible for managing development of the nation’s offshore resources in an environmentally and economically responsible way. Functions include: Leasing, Plan Administration, Environmental Studies, National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Analysis, Resource Evaluation, Economic Analysis and the Renewable Energy Program. AESY provides BOEM with high, mid, and entry-level information management expertise to support data collection, analysis, imaging, and retrieval/delivery services, which encompass such functions as data entry, data loading, document processing, indexing, scanning, data validation, data quality assurance, data archiving, document technical support, application and database design and development, Geological Interpretive Tools (GIT) support, seismic data management, records management, and overseeing projects.
